The Forest City Warriors got a superb performance from pitcher Dave Berry, but the Syracuse Starks still won the game, 6-5. Berry was named the player of the game despite the loss. He came in in relief and pitched to 17 batters . Ollie McDaniell, credited with the win, is now 2-5. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits in 9 innings. Even with the win, the Starks have a dismal 10-33 record.
Syracuse relied on the hitting of Patrick Mildren to pick up the win. The third baseman ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the first inning to put the Starks on top, 5-0. For the game, Mildren had 1 triple and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
