The Virginia Beach Whales defeated the Biloxi Shuckers, 7-4, at The Pizza Oven today. Leading the charge for Virginia Beach was catcher Asberry Harpending. He was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The loss drops Biloxi to 9-10.

Harpending contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Virginia Beach in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Harpending took a changeup from Francisco Borges and stroked the triple to right. His 1st triple of the season allowed the Whales to leap in front, 2-1.

Harpending called the triumph "a good team win."
