Loss Extends Syracuse Losing Streak

The Syracuse Starks and Plymouth Rocks were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd at Stark Stadium.
The Plymouth Rocks knocked off the Syracuse Starks, 8-4, at Stark Stadium. Pedro Marrero was named player of the game for Plymouth. He hit 1 single and 2 doubles, while driving in 3 runs. Lance Farmer got the win, improving to 1-3. He pitched 5 innings, giving up 5 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 2. Erik Jackson earned the save for Plymouth, his 3rd.
Plymouth used the timely hitting of Rafael Martínez to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rocks ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was an important one.
"We're stringing together some nice wins," said Plymouth manager José Reyes.
The Starks have now dropped 7 straight.
