Nationals Topple Pilgrims with Late Rally
|
The Ottawa Nationals electrified the home crowd at Nationals Park with a walk-off win.
The Ottawa Nationals had to overcome a big game from Providence third baseman Chris Hall to leave Nationals Park with a 6-5 victory. Hall was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Ottawa reliever Travis Conklin picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Phat Tra shouldered the loss.
Imbart Baars was the walk-off hero for Ottawa. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Nationals first baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"Enjoyed this one," Baars told the Ottawa Daily News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Pilgrims, now 6-11, have been pitiful so far.
