Syracuse played host to Sacramento at the friendly confines of Stark Stadium.

Pitcher Edmund Blackadder was sensational for the Syracuse Starks in his team's 5-1 triumph over the Sacramento Redlegs. Blackadder received player of the game honors, while picking up the win. Even with the win, the Starks have a dismal 9-23 record.

Bill Gracián drove in one run for Syracuse. The 31-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Gustavo Molina. It was his 18th RBI of the season.

"It was a tough night at the plate," said Sacramento manager Marshall Edwards.
