Nobles Win Again, Extend Streak to 8
|
The Bakersfield Nobles defeated the Plymouth Rocks, 6-4, at Plymouth Quarry. Bakersfield shortstop Carlos Miranda was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 2-4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times. Bakersfield reliever Ryan Fry picked up the win, bumping his record to 2-0. Alberto Álvarez was collared with the loss. Bing-zhong Qiu earned the save, his 1st.
It could have been a different outcome for Bakersfield, had it not been for César Enríques, the 23-year old third baseman . Enríques contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put Bakersfield up, 1-0.
Enríques called the triumph "a good team win."
