Getting a good performance from third baseman Tomás Martí, the Port Royal Disaster defeated the Syracuse Starks, 7-6. Martí went 2 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Disaster. Port Royal reliever Maurice Hilliard picked up the win, bumping his record to 1-0. Jason Sanders was collared with the loss. Earning his 4th save of the year was Shawn Stevenson.
A crucial at-bat came with a runner on 1st and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when left fielder Gerold Kent hit a single. The Disaster went on to win.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Kent.
Port Royal, at 8-14, sits in 8th place in the Premier AAA.
