Gomillion Goes Off, But Redlegs Win
|
The Bloomington Longnecks got a superb performance from left fielder Vicente Gomillion, but the Sacramento Redlegs still won the game, 7-6. Gomillion was named the player of the game despite the loss. He was 2 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The win pushes Sacramento to a record of 11-8.
The result might have been different for Sacramento, had it not been for Lautaro Lacasa, the 21-year old third baseman . Lacasa stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put Sacramento up, 7-5. For the game, he had 2 doubles and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
