Sonics Trounce Nationals, 13-3
|
The Atlantic City Sonics defeated the Ottawa Nationals, 13-3, at Nationals Park. Atlantic City second baseman Luis Ortíz was named player of the game for his superb performance. He was 4 for 6 with 3 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. With the loss, Ottawa drops to 0-5.
Atlantic City needed the clutch hitting of Raffaello Dichio to notch the win. The catcher hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Sonics on top, 5-0. For the game, Dichio had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Ortíz. "And not try to do too much."
