The Baton Rouge Brass beat the Jersey City Tritons, 6-1, at Jersey City Grounds. The win was largely due to the efforts of shortstop Arturo Cicerón, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-4 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Jordan Guérin, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 5.1 innings. Baton Rouge, now 7-2, is setting the league on fire so far.
Baton Rouge grabbed the momentum in the top of the fifth, when Cicerón hit a 2-run double. His 4th double of the season put the Brass out in front, 2-0.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Cicerón. "But I have better dreams after a win."
