Thunder Need Extras to Top Nationals
|
The Ottawa Nationals opened their 2042 season with a disappointing 8-6 loss to the St. Petersburg Thunder at Nationals Park. Third Baseman Fernando Urby was a big part of the win for St. Petersburg. He went 3 for 6 with 2 doubles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2.
The game was all tied up in the top of the 13th, until Urby delivered big-time for St. Petersburg, stroking a dramatic 2-run double off Errol Young. The game-changing hit put the Thunder on top, 7-5.
"We maximized our offense today," said St. Petersburg skipper Emílio Sáenz. "That makes everyone's life easier."
