Longnecks Bang Out 8-2 Win Versus Port Royal
The Bloomington Longnecks relied on the hitting of designated hitter Karl Blanke to stop the Port Royal Disaster, 8-2. For the game, Blanke went 1-2 with 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Bloomington reliever Cheung Wuying was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Thie Calkhoven took the loss. The Longnecks, now 3-1, have hit the ground running this season.

Blanke had a game-changing single in the bottom of the sixth. On a full count fastball from Thie Calkhoven, he banged a 2-run single to left, giving the Longnecks a 4-2 lead. It was the 1st hit of the year for Blanke.

"It feels good to get this one," Blanke told the Bloomington Observer.
