Getting a good performance from left fielder Gerold Kent, the Port Royal Disaster defeated the Baton Rouge Brass, 10-5. Kent was 2 for 3 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Disaster. José Blanco picked up the win, improving his season record to 1-0. He struck out 6 in 5.1 innings. Pjotr Melis closed the game out for Port Royal, earning his 1st save.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the top of the first, with the game tied, Sean Wallace was at the plate when Port Royal scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Disaster to go in front, 1-0.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Wallace told the Port Royal Times.

The loss drops Baton Rouge to 2-1.
