The Marquette Miners topped the Bethesda Atoms, 6-4, with youngster Steve Chittick playing a key role. Chittick went 2-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Miners in the win. Carl Cooper earned the save for Marquette, his 2nd of the year. With the loss, Bethesda is 1-3.

Chittick had a key at-bat for Marquette early in the game. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was his 7th hit of the season and gave Marquette an early 1-0 lead.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Chittick said.
