Longnecks Bang Out 12-6 Win Versus Forest City
|
The Bloomington Longnecks beat the Forest City Warriors, 12-6, at Lookouts Ballpark. Bloomington catcher Carlos Sánchez earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The win was credited to Reid Ross in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Clarence Miller took the loss. The Longnecks, now 2-0, have hit the ground running this season.
The Longnecks got a lift from shortstop Clay Myers who had a run-scoring walk in the bottom of the first inning off Clarence Miller. It was his 1st walk of the season and put Bloomington in front, 5-4.
"It was a solid team effort," said Sánchez after the game.
