Polar Bears Need Extras to Top Atoms
The Billings Polar Bears defeated the Bethesda Atoms, 8-5, in M3L Double A action at Atoms Field, with Billings pitcher Ryan Robertson named player of the game. The winner was Billings reliever Dan Webster, now 1-0. The loser was Chris Sanders. The Polar Bears raised their record to 2-1.

Billings used the clutch hitting of Roy Maynard to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the 12th inning to put the Polar Bears ahead, 8-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.

"We maximized our offense today," said Billings skipper Marvin Nelson. "That makes everyone's life easier."
