The Milton Dogfish Head downed the Athletic Club KC Reserves, 8-1, at KC Reserve Stadium. Arnie Taylor led the way, going 3-for-5 for Milton. Giovanni Mireles got the win, improving to 1-0. He held the Reserves to 1 earned run on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 1 and walking 1. Carlos Salcido, credited with the save, is now 2 for 2 in save opportunities.
Milton relied on the hitting of Colton Pennington to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Dogfish Head on top, 5-1. For the game, Pennington had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We had a nice day," said Milton skipper Alfred Roberts.
Milton improves to 57-28 with the win. They lead their division by 10˝ games.
