van Opdorp Batters Northern Virginia for 5 Hits
|
5 hits in a game is a rare thing, but Boston's Eisse van Opdorp made it happen today against the Rainbow Mermaids. Everything came together at the plate for the 26-year-old second baseman as he collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats -- and led the Patriots to a 15-2 win at Atlantica.
"I'm just out there to try and help the team win," van Opdorp said after the game, "I had some real good at-bats today. I made good, solid contact and luckily no one caught 'em."
Eisse van Opdorp singled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Mario Quintero in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI triple in the 9th.
So far this year van Opdorp is batting .432 with 14 home runs.
