Dogfish Head Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Black Mambas
|
The Milton Dogfish Head defeated the Austin Black Mambas, 4-3, at Milton Corner Tavern. Milton left fielder Christian Cole was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 3 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs. Sergio Tacuri sewed up the save, his 26th. Milton leads the Menard's AAA by 8½ games.
Had Cole not come through in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have changed. Instead, with two down, Cole drew a walk, driving in 1 run. The Dogfish Head never looked back after taking the 4-3 lead.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Austin manager Juan Cuestas said following the tough loss.
