Sioux Falls got an elite performance from starting pitcher Phil Soto in taking a 1-0 decision over the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds. Sioux Falls reliever Chris Rice picked up the win to move to 1-0. Eric Manchester suffered the loss. Sioux Falls now has a 3-game win streak.
A crucial at-bat came with the bases empty and no one out in the bottom of the seventh inning. That's when right fielder Rich Watkins hit a triple. The Red Pandas went on to win.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Watkins.
