Fighting Dachsunds Bridle Knights, 3-1
|
Fans who gathered at Ballpark of Alloway saw a good contest between the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds and Nolensville Knights.
Ellenburg starter Jessie Young put a stranglehold on the Nolensville offense. The right-hander had complete command of his changeup in leading the Fighting Dachsunds to a 3-1 win. Young picked up the win for Ellenburg, going 6 innings. He gave up 1 run on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 3-5.
The outcome might have been different for Ellenburg, had it not been for Tony Worley, the 27-year old center fielder . Worley stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the second inning to put Ellenburg up, 1-0. For the game, he was 2 for 3, including 1 double and 1 single.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Ellenburg manager Jason Stewart.
Ellenburg is now 36-30, while Nolensville is 34-32.
