Loss to Red Pandas Extends Santa Barbara Losing Streak
|
The Sioux Falls Red Pandas beat the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 6-3, at Crane Field. The win was largely due to the efforts of designated hitter Shun Komatsu, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Sioux Falls starter Timoteo Sassetti was credited with the win after throwing 90 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Scott Colorado got the save, the 1st for him this season.
Komatsu came through with some timely hitting for Sioux Falls. With the score 1-1 in the top of the fourth and two down, Komatsu hit a first pitch slider for a 3-run home run. His 6th home run of the season made it 4-1, Sioux Falls.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Komatsu.
The Golden Cranes have now dropped 6 straight.
