Voodoo Score Late, Stun Patriots, 6-4
|
New Orleans left fielder Weston Doyle made his presence felt in the 6-4 Voodoo triumph over the Boston Patriots. Doyle went 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Daryl Keirl earned the save for New Orleans, his 1st of the year. Even with the win, the Voodoo have a dismal 9-24 record.
New Orleans used the clutch hitting of Tony Calhoun to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Voodoo the lead, 5-4. For the game, Calhoun had 2 singles and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"I'm just happy to help the team win," Doyle told the New Orleans Citizen.
