The Sioux Falls Red Pandas racked up a win at Crane Field, bumping off the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes, 7-4. Phil Soto, who started for Sioux Falls, pitched effectively for his team. Soto got the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 4 hits and walked 4 over 7 innings. Soto allowed 1 earned run. Tim Sandaele recorded the save for Sioux Falls, his 11th of the season.
Sioux Falls needed the clutch hitting of Myles Brundidge to notch the win. The third baseman hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Red Pandas on top, 3-0. For the game, Brundidge had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I liked his command," said Sioux Falls manager Willis Crawford. "Phil was throwing strikes."
Santa Barbara has now lost 4 consecutive games.
