Miguel Ávila could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Austin Black Mambas lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Sioux Falls Red Pandas at Mamba Park. Ralph DePalma was the winner. Over 7 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 2 strikeouts. The Red Pandas bumped their record to 28-26 with this latest triumph.
Sioux Falls used the clutch hitting of Shun Komatsu to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Red Pandas ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Komatsu.
