Victory Over Red Pandas Takes Milton to 31-17
|
Milton pitcher Javier Guillén did his part in helping his team beat the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Sergio Tacuri got the save, the 15th for him this season. Milton is now 31-17, 2½ games up in the Menard's AAA.
Milton catcher John Mayer contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two down, he hit a slider into left field for a run-scoring double. It was his 11th double of the season and put the Dogfish Head ahead, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Milton manager Alfred Roberts.
