The Sioux Falls Red Pandas beat the Milton Dogfish Head, 6-3, at Milton Corner Tavern. The Red Pandas got a fine performance from designated hitter Syed Sarkar, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2-5 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Horiuchi Tanaka picked up the win with 5 innings of work. He allowed 3 earned runs on 4 hits, while walking 5 and striking out 3. On the season, he is now 2-1. Tate Beason was called on to finish, recording his 2nd save.
With Sioux Falls leading 4-3 in the top of the fourth, Sarkar hit a changeup from Dan Dunn for a 2-run single. It was his 4th hit of the season and put the Red Pandas ahead, 6-3.
Sarkar attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
Sioux Falls is now 25-21, while Milton is 30-16.
