White Walkers Score Late to Upend 84s, 4-3
|
The Buffalo White Walkers picked up a win at 84s Field, knocking off the Greenville 84s, 4-3. Starting pitcher John A. Mais, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. Getting the save was Brewster Warble, his 9th. The first-place White Walkers have won 7 in a row.
Buffalo used the clutch hitting of Max Bortenschlager to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to give the White Walkers the lead, 4-3. For the game, Bortenschlager had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"For the most part, I made good pitches when I needed to," said Mais.
