Golden Cranes Topple Fighting Dachsunds as Starr Shines
With third baseman Jamie Starr leading the charge, the Santa Barbara Golden Cranes defeated the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 8-6, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Starr, who leads the 3AAA in bases on balls with 28, was 2 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Santa Barbara reliever Nésto Gago picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Eric Manchester was saddled with the loss. Their 15-16 record puts the Golden Cranes 7th in the Menard's AAA.

Santa Barbara used the clutch hitting of Alfredo Garza to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to give the Golden Cranes the lead, 6-3. For the game, Garza had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Starr told the Santa Barbara Herald.
