Golden Cranes Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
Santa Barbara pitcher Ambrose Randall did his part in helping his team beat the Monongahela Monsters, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Santa Barbara reliever Nésto Gago picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Gertjan van Hulst was saddled with the loss. The save was credited to Chris Berry, his 1st.
Santa Barbara used the timely hitting of Jody Clark to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Golden Cranes on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 6 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Santa Barbara manager Pedro León.
The win gives Santa Barbara a record of 8-7.
