The Austin Black Mambas downed the Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds, 7-6, at Dog Park in Ellenburg. Carlos Hernández led the way, going 4-for-5 for Austin. Austin reliever Silverberry Mouhon was the winner. His record is now 1-1. Tsugahara Hori took the loss. Getting the save was Craig Wash, his 4th.

The outcome might have been different for Austin, had it not been for Jason Portillo, the 22-year old catcher . Portillo stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put Austin up, 7-6. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Another day, another win. On to the next one," Portillo told the Austin Chronicle.
