Austin pitcher Glenn Douglas did his part in helping his team beat the Pennsauken Flyers, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Silverberry Mouhon sewed up the save, his 1st. At 5-3, the Black Mambas have played well so far.

Had José Vera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 1st, Vera hit a run-scoring double. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Black Mambas.

Vera attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
