New Orleans pitcher Sicnarf Loopstok did his part in helping his team beat the Portland Evergreens, 4-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Loopstok went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 1, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-1. The last-place Voodoo now have a win-loss record of 7-18.
The result might have been different for New Orleans, had it not been for Tony Calhoun. The second baseman produced a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 3-1. For the game, Calhoun had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort," said Calhoun after the game.
