Pandas Stumble, Lose to Kingfishers
The Pittsburgh Kingfishers downed the Montana Pandas, 8-2, at Panda Park. The Kingfishers were led by Shao Qigang, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. Jeffery Meyers earned the win for Pittsburgh. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 2 earned runs on 6 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 1-0. Kenny James closed it out for his 1st save.

Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Rafael Abasto to capture the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put the Kingfishers on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Abasto said.

The Pandas fall to 9-12 and continue their uneven start to the 2042 season.
