Voodoo Drop Shredders with Late Score
|
The New Orleans Voodoo did just enough to secure a 3-2 victory over the Hollywood Shredders at The Hollywood Bowl. Nobody did more than pitcher Chin-yau Liu, who captured player of the game honors. The win was credited to Wu-ti Xuan in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Binjimen Victor took the loss. Losses have been few and far between for the Shredders so far this season. Their record drops to 2-1.
New Orleans used the timely hitting of Jerry Yates to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Voodoo ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Yates.
