The Boston Patriots defeated the Portland Evergreens, 6-0, at Evergreen Park today. Leading the charge for Boston was first baseman Edward Sterrenburg. He went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Boston's record now stands at 14-10, placing them 4th in the Premier League.
Sterrenburg had a key at-bat for Boston early in the game. With a runner on 1st, he hit a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and gave Boston an early 2-0 lead.
