Northern Virginia rode a fine outing from starter Ton Jobse to victory over the Hollywood Shredders at The Hollywood Bowl. The final score was 5-2. Kent Randall locked down his 4th save. Northern Virginia is now 8-16, while Hollywood is 15-9.

Northern Virginia used the timely hitting of Jeff Washington to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but he made it count.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Washington told the Northern Virginia Gazette.
