Outlaws Top Dodgers in 12
|
The Nashville Outlaws eked out a 2-1 win versus the Brooklyn Dodgers at Ebbetts Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Jesús Cruz, who captured player of the game honors. The Outlaws, now 7-3, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The game was at a stalemate until left fielder Juan Santángel came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Brooklyn pitcher Harrison Tuff, he hit a 0-1 forkball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Nashville on top, 2-1.
"We take it day by day here," said Cruz, "and today was a good one for us."
