Outlaws Turn Back Oakland, 7-5
|
It was a good time at Nashville Stadium, where fans came to watch the Oakland Oaks and Nashville Outlaws get after it.
The Nashville Outlaws overcame a good performance by Oakland designated hitter Phillip White to knock off Oakland, 7-5, at Nashville Stadium. White went 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Nashville reliever Chun-yeong Byung-Ho picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cory bin Nasir al Din shouldered the loss. Mark Zaugg earned the save, his 1st, for the Outlaws.
The Oaks had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Outlaws going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 22-year old left fielder Juan Santángel came to the plate. Santángel hit a 2-run single on a 1-1 changeup from Oakland hurler Cory bin Nasir al Din. It was Santángel's 3rd hit of the year.
"Enjoyed this one," Santángel told the Nashville Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
With the win, Nashville pushes its record to 1-1.
