The Cleveland Browns trumped the Greenville 84s, 4-3, at 84s Field. Cleveland designated hitter Tadayoshi Watanabe was named player of the game for his performance. He was 1 for 2 with 2 walks and was hit by a pitch. Damien Morin nailed down his 3rd save. Cleveland, now 13-8, has played well in the early going.

Cleveland used the timely hitting of Alexei Ponikarov to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Browns on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Ponikarov told the Cleveland Daily News.
