Gabriel's Hit Streak Soars to 20 Games Saturday, August 17th, 2041 Ramón Gabriel continued his streak at Paints Ballpark today, even as the ballgame did not go his way. The Shady Side third baseman was 2-for-5 in today's contest and now has hit safely in his last 20 games. The Zoomies were not as fortunate, losing 7-3 to the Canonniers de Quebec. "Gabriel was hitting everything we threw at him," said Canonniers de Quebec manager Eugene Jackson. "He is a tough out. Fortunately, things went our way in the ballgame today and we came away with a win." Ramón Gabriel struck out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Gabriel is batting .366 with 2 home runs and 30 RBIs. In 59 games he has scored 29 times. |
