SR Names Rodríguez Pitcher of the Year Award Winner Saturday, September 28th, 2041 A sparkling 12-5 mark for the year just about says it all -- that's what Pedro Rodríguez of the Franklin Fire put up this season. That's why the USSL Rookie rated him the #1 hurler in the league and named him the 2041 Pitcher of the Year Award winner. He held opposing clubs to a .206 batting average and compiled a 2.14 ERA. Rodríguez stood out with 199 strikeouts while giving up 109 hits and 28 walks in 143 innings. He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Foeke Reus of the Valley View Cougars finished second in voting, while Jim Steel of the Ladue Rams finished third.
