Wednesday, September 25th, 2041
At the age of 18, Eitoku Tanaka says he still has a lot to learn about life in USSL Rookie.
But he certainly seems to be a quick study, as the Hudsonville Flanderses reliever was better than all others this year and has captured the 2041 USSL Rookie Reliever of the Year Award.
"I hope to win this a few more times before all is said and done in my career," the Toyohashi, Japan native said.
For the season, Tanaka had 2 saves in 25 relief appearances, which totaled 72. He fanned 76 betters, while walking 21 and put up a record of 7-1 to go with his 1.88 ERA.
He received 10 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Domingo García of the Valley View Cougars finished second in voting, while Adrian Madrid of the Franklin Fire finished third.
