Cooper Gone for Season in Surprise
Sunday, September 1st, 2041
Surprise reliever Jonathan Cooper could miss the remainder of the season because of a damaged elbow ligament. He exited yesterday's Quebec City game after injuring himself while throwing a pitch. The original diagnosis said Cooper would be out 14 months. Later on his doctors said he could be out even longer. "He's done," his manager commented at the BNN press conference. "It's a season-ending injury, but it could have been worse. It's not the worst-case scenario, so we're happy about that."

This season Cooper has logged 6 saves. He has thrown 39.2 innings, dished out 50 strikeouts and walked 10 while putting up a 3-0 mark and a 2.50 ERA.
