Fire End Stuart's Streak
Friday, August 9th, 2041
The Franklin Fire got more than the 6-0 victory at Hudsonville Park today -- they also put an end to the 20-game hitting streak of Hudsonville Flanderses center fielder Bailey Stuart by holding him without a hit in 3 at-bats.
After the game, Stuart seemed more concerned with his team taking the loss than with the demise of his streak.
"I had some great looks at some pitches that I should have hit," he said. "I missed some that I shouldn't have swung at. All in all, I wasn't much help with the bat today."
This season Stuart has delivered 109 hits in 314 at-bats for a .347 average with no home runs. He is getting on base at a .375 clip and his totals also include 43 RBIs and 42 runs scored. This year Stuart has played in 75 games.
