Indiana's Pearce Shuts Out Biscuits Saturday, June 22nd, 2041 The Montgomery Biscuits manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Indiana Lead Sox. The Biscuits were overpowered by Indiana starter Ed Pearce, who hurled his club to victory, 3-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Júlio Aguirre said. Over 9 innings, Pearce blanked Montgomery on 2 hits with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Pearce said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." Season-to-date, Pearce has rung up no saves in 1 relief appearance. He has 55 strikeouts and 16 walks in 51.2 innings while registering a 2.09 ERA and a 2-1 won-lost record.
