Leyva Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games
Wednesday, June 5th, 2041
The St. Petersburg Thunder may have proven to be mere mortals today as they lost 6-4 to the Tacoma Fur Traders, but Carlos Leyva continued to hit like a god.

The second baseman collected 2 hits in 4 at-bats in the loss and extended his hitting streak to 20 games.

"Leyva is playing great and is on fire right now," Thunder manager Emílio Sáenz said. "Hopefully his play can spark the rest of our team and help us pick up some wins."

Leyva was apparently not happy with the game and when pressed by reporters in the locker room only said "nothing else matters but the loss."
Carlos Leyva flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.

To date, Leyva has collected 39 hits for a .364 average. He has posted 3 home runs, scored 18 runs and driven in 18 runs.
