Postseason Bid Ends for Irving Thursday, September 5th, 2041 The Irving Blue Sox may still need a piece or two before becoming championship material in USSL Double A. The team has fallen short of its playoff goals this year, being officially eliminated from the playoffs today. "I feel like we have a great group," Blue Sox manager Dave Lee said. "We happened to come up short or our goal, though. We'll re-tool and be back stronger next season." The Blue Sox have missed the playoffs 21 times in their 26 years as a USSL Double A franchise. This playoff miss is the club's 2nd in a row, with their last postseason appearance coming in 2038. In the last 10 seasons, the Blue Sox have missed the playoffs 7 times. Irving last won the SL AA Championship in 2039. |
