Méndez Finally Fails, Streak Ends at 27 Friday, September 13th, 2041 All good things must come to an end -- and so it was today for Jesús Méndez as he saw his 27-game hitting streak end. He went hitless in 4 at-bats at the hands of the Minnesota Loons. It wasn't all bad for the 26-year-old shortstop and the Marquette Miners however, as they defeated Minnesota 6-2 at Loony Bin. When asked about his hitting streak, a smiling Méndez laughed and said, "I guess my luck ran out today." So far this season Méndez is batting .267 with 1 home run. |
