Méndez Boosts Hit Streak to 25 Games Wednesday, September 4th, 2041 Jesús Méndez of the Marquette Miners extended his hitting streak to 25 straight games with 1 hit in today's 8-5 triumph over the Yakima Hops at Marquette Stadium. "Jesús has been making it easy for me to pencil his name in the lineup every day," Miners manager Christos Galpin joked after the game. Jesús Méndez hit an RBI single in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
